Scanna Launches New X-ray Imager

An inexpensive robust flat panel x-ray imager has been launched by Scanna, in response to the bombings on the London Underground and continuing security threat.

SCANWEDGE has been specially developed for portable x-ray screening. Its flat panel design allows it to be used in confined spaces. It can also be used from different orientations and produces high quality x-ray images.

Images are sent immediately to a laptop so operators do not have to re-approach a suspect package to retrieve film or imaging plates which increases safety and speeds up the detection of potential bombs.

SCANWEDGE operators are also protected as it is used with Golden x-ray generators and does not rely on hazardous generators containing pressurised or toxic gases.

With a flat imaging area of 25cm and 33 cm, SCANWEDGE also provides more than 50 per cent coverage than other conventional portable x-ray systems.

It is available as a complete system or as a flatpanel upgrade or accessory to SCANTRAK or other portable x-ray units using Golden generators or Polaroid film.
