Launches the 'Holy Grail' of CCTV
J2K
Video Limited, a leading digital CCTV company has developed products that
it says are set to revolutionise the sector. J2KV's SharpView system delivers
video images of digital photographic quality.
SharpView
Cameras produce razor sharp CCTV images and the SharpView Recorder is
capable of processing video from several of these cameras at over 625
images per second. This means that for the first time, the pictures are
of photographic quality and the frames are changing often enough to provide
smooth video, instead of the jerky motion with blurred images often associated
with established CCTV video evidence.
The SharpView system maintains all the features associated with a high
end digital CCTV system. It is capable of recording images while continuing
to stream live video and can playback recordings simultaneously. The SharpView
Management software allows users to have total control over the scene
including the ability to pan, tilt and zoom in on any detail without losing
any definition while maintaining the whole field of view. Due to the high
pixel capture, viewers can watch live and pre-recorded video from the
whole scene in wide screen panoramic views without the need for PTZ operators'
control which could miss critical scenes if the camera were moved away
from key positions.
Jay Patel, Managing Director of J2KV says, The problem with current
CCTV is that images are blurred in wide angle views and are captured at
very low rates. They often require the manual operation of expensive PTZ
cameras with dedicated staff. We have overcome this problem by using multi-megapixel
camera technology that provides very high definition pictures at sensible
rates.
The system we have developed allows this video to be transferred at fast
enough rates to be captured at over 12 frames per second from each of
several cameras connected to the system, rather than the one frame per
second which is more commonly associated with CCTV recording.
As many users have found, capturing only one frame per second can
mean that vital evidence is missed such as a punch or the moment of breaking
in. In the past these problems were overcome by recording at much lower
definition, but that leads to the kind of blurred image which is so difficult
to use for identification purposes.
Jasbir Jutla, Director of J2KV added, I have worked in the security
industry for nearly 20 years as a provider of CCTV. I am an avid amateur
photographer and have long been frustrated that the crystal clear pictures
I create with my digital camera were not matched by the images I used
in my professional life.
I had thought a system such as this was still some years off, but
thanks to our innovative technical team, we have achieved a product to
be incredibly proud of.
It has already generated a tremendous amount of interest and we are certain
that once CCTV users become aware of the capability of our system, they
won't use any other. Remarkably, we believe that our system could actually
work out cheaper than other options, as one of our 11 Megapixel SharpView
cameras could replace up to 50 standard PAL cameras for a fraction of
the cost. For example, just 4 of our cameras would be sufficient to keep
watch over an entire football crowd.
