Scientific Launches New Barricade
A
barricade capable of stopping a vehicle travelling up to 50 mph has been
launched by Delta Scientific, the US manufacturer of counter-terrorist
vehicle control systems.
The
DSC 2000 High Speed, High Security, Very Shallow Foundation barricade
was created especially for high speed applications and ease of installation.
It is K12 crash certified with no penetration, meaning it will stop a
15,000 pound vehicle travelling at 50 mph dead in its tracks.
David Dickinson, Delta Scientific Senior Vice President said: ‘Witnessing
our crash tests, representatives from the Department of State, Corps of
Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation were very impressed.’
Set in a foundation only ten inches deep versus the standard 18 inches
on most shallow foundation barriers, the Delta DSC 2000 survived and operated
after a crash test which exceeded 1.5 US Department of State and Department
of Defense test standards.
It raises in less than half second and is designed for heavy use, with
the ability to go up and down 100,000 times each month, providing increased
security for high capacity locations.
Different setting options make the DSC 2000 operable in a wide variety
of situations, from wide roadways to narrow driveways
