Selex Airborne Systems Integrated Image Sensor Suite

Britten-Norman has announced that it has successfully fitted its 2T Defender aircraft with Selex’s image production equipment.

Integration of the 'Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems Integrated Image Sensor Suite' into Britten Norman’s aircraft took just 4 months from start to finish.

The combination offers the advantage of the 2T’s low noise and long distance endurance with the high quality image capture of the Selex S&AS IMSS.

A Britten-Norman spokesperson said 'With the Defender’s proven track record in Coast Guard, Exclusive Economic Zones and Maritime Patrol operations, it is not difficult to see why it is a perfect platform for the integrated mission sensor suite.

'With significantly reduced vibration compared to that encountered in a helicopter, the Defender provides markedly reduced image shake degradation.'
